Very few in the world will deny that how good our constitution is, and all other structures that associated to it. We were applauded by the world community when all those documents were put together. This youngest African democracy of ours has achieved a lot in the pas sixteen years in assembling such policies and laws.

There is a vital aspect when passing a law that will help people, is that people intended need to understand it, so they can be able to be in the good position to benefit from it. Other than that will be a good document which will be kept in offices which will help specific elite group of people. The reason I’m highlighting this point is merely because we still get people being exposed to abuse with knowing that the law is on their side. So this becomes the challenge to the government and related NGO to rescue our society more especial women and children.

The other group is people who’re aware of all available resources to empower women; however they lack that self-esteem or not believing that they really can do it. I have noticed small things that might look light, however which I view as serious e.g. seeing a woman driving a public transport or even being a chief (inkosi yesizwe). It becomes more painful to hear other women saying they don’t trust woman leadership. So then they prefer men’s leadership, with due respect, when we talk about empowerment it should begin from women within themselves. This is what at some point I call the disempowerment amongst same gender.

Although there seem to be a thin line between a wife and a woman in the work place, not all are able to differentiate. However that is not isolated to one gender even the thin line between a husband and a man who is leadership at work or in a certain organization, not all people are able to differentiate. Government of the day can comes up with all kind of laws, but it up to the people intended to use them into their advantage. The mind revolution in this regard is highly needed to get rid of all the stereotypes clouding people’s mind. We have the duty to motivate woman to accelerate their participation in the economy at large, to accelerate the fight against abuse. What is good about woman is that the capacity in there in everyway i.e. there are so many household lead by woman, even my granny was a single parent to me.

We at the Africans Way  respect the role of\ women in our society and in Africa a woman is a very important person, because a man is not complete without a wife. In IsiZulu we say uNkosikazi, when we use that suffix –kazi on the word that means how important it is. We say to all woman of the world get up and go, you must remember if you want a thing to be exceptionally done give it to a woman.
